Swamiji on uplifting the Indian masses
“Let new India arise out of peasants’ cottage, grasping the plough, out of the huts of the fisherman, the cobbler and the sweeper.”
“Let her spring from the grocer’s shop, from beside the oven of the fritter-seller… from the factory, from the marts; Let her emerge from forest, from hills and mountains.”
“Hence our object is to see that everyone down to chandala be helped to attain the right to Dharma, Artha, Kama and Moksha.”
Swami Vivekananda after travelling the western countries realised the power of organisation. No great work can be done without organisation.
So, he established Ramakrishna Mission on 1 May 1897 to regenerate India not only for the good of Indians but for the whole world.
Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Ranchi (including RKMVERI Ranchi Campus, Divyayan-KVK, etc.) is one of Ramakrishna Mission’s attempts to realize the above vision of Swamiji for uplifting Indian masses.
