Applications are invited from the eligible candidates for the position of Research Assistant under the Division of Rural and Tribal Development at Ranchi Campus, RKMVERI (Deemed University) in an ICSSR funded project entitled: “History, Culture and Livelihood of the Birhor Tribe of Eastern India: An Ethnographic Perspectives”.
Project Duration
The project duration is for 24 months and the Research Assistant will be appointed for a maximum duration of 18 months purely on temporary basis as stipulated by the existing rules of the ICSSR and RKMVERI, Ranchi Campus. The appointment shall be initially for a period of six months, renewable after six months depending on the performance of research assistant. The Research Assistant will be expected to enrol in full-time Ph.D. programme of the institute upon successful demonstration of his / her research and academic capabilities within the first two quarters. The institute may consider continuing the financial support after the expiry of the project duration, provided the institute finds research progress of the researcher worthy of it.
Essential Qualification
Research Assistant: Master’s degree or equivalent in Social Anthropology / Sociology / Social Work / Rural Development or allied social science disciplines with minimum 55% marks.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates should have considerable interest and ideas of fieldwork in remote tribal villages of West Bengal, Jharkhand and Orissa. M.Phil./NET/SET qualified will be preferred.
Pay
Rs. 16000/- per month (Consolidated). Separate allowances will be provided during fieldwork as per norms.
