Celebration of: Observance of Anti Ragging Day and Anti Ragging week

A programme was conducted on the 12th of August, 2024, to observe Anti Ragging Day and Anti Ragging week.
The event began with a shanti mantra, followed by a speech by Swami Antarananda Maharaj, Assistant Secretary of the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Ranchi. In his speech, he discussed the root causes of the evil practice of ragging and suggested measures to prevent it.
After that, the chief guest, Dr. Amar Tigga, delivered a speech on ragging. He emphasized how ragging negatively impacts students’ lives. He recalled his own experiences as a student, noting that ragging was particularly severe in his time. Dr. Tigga encouraged seniors to end the practice of ragging and instead welcome their juniors with sweets and flowers, fostering a more positive and affectionate environment.
Mr. O.P. Dubey also interacted with the students and give speech against ragging.
Dr. Pankaj Kumar Mishra, Assistant Professor, RKMVERI, member of anti-ragging squad stressed on different types of ragging, steps victim can take and different punishments for ragging.
The programme concluded on a positive note with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Raghav Thakur, Associate Dean, RKMVERI.
